Before I realized the significance of the 6th street bridge, I was drawn to the icon of noir Los Angeles. The neglected work of art spans across decrepit and gritty surroundings, a contradiction in many ways. One of the lesser known landmarks, memorialized on screen, the now demolished bridge will long remain a symbol of the Los Angeles River and the turmoils of "2nd Los Angeles" as it's referred to by Christopher Hawthorne of LA Times, the pavement years.
